PU Zoologists had an insightful visit to Ayubia National Park, exploring its unique ecology and diverse wildlife. The experience offered hands-on learning about species interactions, forest dynamics, and conservation challenges in a protected area. During the visit, Professor Zulfiqar Ali, Professor Noor Khan, Dr. Chaman Ara, and Dr. Abdulla Shakir delivered lectures, enriching the students’ knowledge about ecological processes and conservation strategies. Ayubia National Park showcases the intricate interconnectedness of wildlife and forests. Decomposing wood logs serve as vital microhabitats for fungi, insects, and microorganisms, recycling nutrients back into the soil. This sustains tree growth and supports herbivores, ultimately benefiting predators. Observing this balance highlights the critical role of each element in ecosystem health. Such trips enhance understanding and inspire efforts for wildlife and habitat conservation. |
