Successful PhD Thesis Defense at the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature, University of the Punjab

On 4 March 2026 (Wednesday), the Institute of Urdu Language and Literature hosted the successful thesis defense of PhD scholar Sidra Sabir. Her dissertation, titled “Historical Elements in Urdu Short Stories: An Analytical Study,” was supervised by Dr. Zahid Munir Amir.
The external examiners, Dr. Rehana Kausar and Dr. Azmat Rabab, appreciated the scholar’s research and congratulated her on the successful defense, recommending the award of the doctoral degree.
Faculty members and students from BS, MPhil, and PhD programs attended the session. Dr. Zahid Munir Amir—currently holding the Pakistan Chair at University of Tehran—also interacted with students and shared insights on literature, history, and Iranian civilization. The event concluded with remarks and congratulations from Director Dr. Baseera Ambreen.
