Dr. So Yamane , Professor of Urdu at the Graduate School of Language and Culture, Osaka University,Japan, visited , Oriental College, University of the Punjab Lahore, where he was warmly received by , Dean Faculty of Oriental Learning۔
During the meeting, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran appreciated the remarkable academic contributions of Prof Dr So Yamane for the promotion of the Urdu language and literature in Japan and acknowledged his role in strengthening academic and cultural ties between Pakistan and Japan.
On this occasion, Prof Dr So Yamane delivered a lecture on the teaching and development of Urdu in Japan and shared his experiences of promoting Urdu language and literature among Japanese students and researchers He also engaged in an interactive session with PhD scholars of the Urdu Department at the University of the Punjab and responded to their questions regarding research trends and opportunities in Urdu studies in Japan.
At the end of the meeting, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamran presented his books to Prof Dr So Yamane as a token of appreciation and academic goodwill.
