The Post Graduate Research Centre of Creative Arts (PRCCA), University College of Art & Design (UCAD), organized its PhD Alumni Get-Together to commemorate 23 years of academic and research excellence. It is the first of its kind to be held at the premises of the College. The event brought together distinguished alumni, faculty, and eminent scholars to celebrate the Centre’s longstanding contribution to art history, research and higher education.
The gathering was hosted by Prof. Dr. Naela Aamir, Director PRCCA, while Dr. Anila served as the MoC. Prof. Dr. Samina Nasim, Principal UCAD, welcomed the guests and acknowledged the Centre’s consistent efforts in promoting research, scholarship, and academic leadership.

Notable speakers and guests of honour included Dr. Mussarat Hassan, art historian and author; Dr. Rahat Naveed Masud, former Principal of UCAD; Dr. Mehmood Husain, former Head of the Architecture Department, UCAD; Dr. Rafya Tahir, former Registrar, University of Home Economics Lahore; Prof. Dr. Shazia Mukhtar, former Vice Principal, Gulberg College for Women Lahore; and Dr. Kanwal Khalid, art historian, author and researcher.
Recorded messages were shared by the alumni as well as by renowned academician and cartoonist Dr. Shaukat Mahmood (Maxim) ,Dr. Nasim Akhtar Said and Dr.Khalid Mahmud, the first Coordinator of the Research Centre.

More than 20 PhD alumni gathered for this event and was also graced by UCAD faculty members , paying tribute to the pioneering teachers of the Centre. A moment of silence was observed in memory of Dr. Barbara Schmitz for her valuable services at the research center.
The event reaffirmed PGRCCA’s commitment to fostering research collaboration, academic engagement, and a strong alumni network for future growth.
